MUMMY I: THE FAT MAN

[English] I returned to Mexico after living abroad for six years. The first museum I visited was “El Museo del Carmen.” The museum has twelve mummies in its basement. I was excited by the dynamic feeling I had when staring at them, despite the stillness of their death. I decided to write a piece for each of them. “The Fat Man” is the first of twelve pieces where I imagine the life of each of the mummies. I imagined the Fat Man’s life full of suffering, which causes excess and consumption, and leads the character to an unavoidable death.
